Basement Progress

Our "Blank Canvas"

Work will begin on July 12th in the basement. We've selected the color of the wall, purchased a 42 inch flat screen tv and wall mount, and ordered the furniture from HOM furniture. The carpet will be removed early next week. Once the floor is stained and the walls are painted we will have the furniture delivered.

Painting, painting, and more painting

If anyone is interested in helping out, we will be at theta on Wednesday, July 7th around 5:00 pm to finish priming and painting the trim in the bedrooms. We also need to take down some shelves and mirrors in the bedrooms and the wire shelving in the bathroom so the painters can start on the walls.

Bedroom Painting

All of the bedrooms will be painted this summer. Each room will be a neutral tone with an accent wall, there will be four different colors throughout the rooms. Painting is scheduled to start on July 12th, we'll post more pictures soon. Last night several members of the facility board started painting all of the door trim white so it will match the windows in the bedrooms.

Bedroom Furniture

Today we ordered three new bunk beds and two desks. The furniture was ordered from MINNCOR, check out www.minncor.com if you want to see pictures of their collegiate line. We are hoping to replace the rest of the bedroom furniture over the next few years.

Here are the "before" pictures of the basement. It's definitely in need of a re-do!!

Summer Projects

We have two major summer projects planned.

Basement TV Room:
We are excited to remodel this room. Our plans are to replace the flooring, all of the furniture, decorations, and paint. Pictures will be posted as the summer goes. We are hoping to start on this towards the end of June. Some of the furniture has already been ordered, last week we got a beautiful chocolate brown sectional.

Paint:
All of the bedrooms and the main bathroom on the upper level will be painted this summer. Painting will be done in July. More details and pictures to come.

We have a few smaller projects for the summer, this includes replacing some kitchen cabinets, getting a few new beds and desks, and redecorating the study room.
